23andMe Users Alert: A $30 Million Settlement Is Live. Here’s How to Claim

If you used 23andMe in 2023, you may be eligible for compensation from a $30 million class action settlement tied to a major data breach. The deadline to file a claim is February 17, 2026.

The settlement has received final approval, but missing the deadline means losing your right to payment.

What Happened in the 23andMe Breach?

In October 2023, hackers gained access to data from nearly seven million users, about half of 23andMe’s customer base at the time.

Exposed information included:

  • Names and addresses

  • Account details

  • Genetic and health-related data

The stolen data was later found for sale on the dark web.

A class action lawsuit accused 23andMe of failing to properly protect user data and not notifying customers quickly enough.
